Overview
Managing measured data from a large distribution network is mostly a reliability problem. If communication is unclear, validation is manual, or device state is hidden, the whole operation slows down.
The project focused on automating data collection and validation across more than 20,000 secondary substations. It worked with IEC 60870-5-104 and DLMS communication and treated availability monitoring as a core part of the system, not an afterthought.
The final architecture brought together substation and device inventory, collection modules, communication classification, and remote management of device firmware and parameters. Each part made the distribution network easier to observe and easier to operate.
The result was a better control surface for infrastructure that already existed. Operators (DSO) gained earlier issue detection, clearer device status, and a more stable base for day-to-day data collection.
